Biography
Her Highness Princess Kara of Greece, Denmark, and Horne was born in 1985 in New York. She is the eldest child of the Prince of Horne and Michele Cosentino. She was first in line of succession to Horne until her brother, Prince Dylan, was born in 2002.
Princess Kara is a part of the thirteenth generation born in the United States since the exiled Dutch-born Christian I of Horne was sent to New Amsterdam in 1614. Prince Edward has three other children; Princess Corey, Prince Dylan, and Prince Kyle, all younger than the Princess. Until 2003, the Horne Act of Succession stipulated that an eldest son had preference over any other sons and daughters could be head of the Principality. Thus, the birth of Prince Dylan placed Princess Kara second in line of succession after her brother. With the Act of Succession amended in 2003, the oldest child, regardless of gender, can succeed to be head of the Principality. In connection with the entry into force of the new Act, a decision was taken to apply this to all successors after Prince Dylan Jován, leaving her in second in line but not being replaced by Prince Kyle.
Princess Kara is a CODA (child of deaf adult), and considers her native languages to be American Sign Language and English.
Family
Six months after the birth of Princess Kara's brother, Prince Kyle, in 2004 Princess Anna was born to Princess Kara and John Pilat. Princess Kara and John have two other daughters, Princess Kayla, born in 2007, and Princess Grace, born in 2016.
